Elias started his journey with us on August 26, 2013, right out of high school as part of a work-study program for his degree in IT Services. From the very beginning, he displayed a passion for technology and a willingness to learn. His journey didn’t stop there. He went on to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Web and Mobile Development, again choosing AB Tasty as his professional home.

At a crossroads, unsure whether to continue his studies, Elias found encouragement from AB Tasty’s CEO. This marked the beginning of a close mutual trust. Not only did AB Tasty provide him with technical expertise, but it also offered an environment where Elias could thrive. The support from his colleagues and the mentorship he received solidified this bond.

Motivated by the trust placed in him, Elias pursued a Master’s degree in Software Architecture, continuing his work-study journey with AB Tasty. In September 2018, he transitioned into a full-time role.

I consider myself extremely fortunate to have started my career with AB Tasty. The company has not only provided me with the technical skills I needed but also a supportive environment where I’ve been able to thrive. The journey from Apprentice to Team Lead has been filled with learning, challenges, growth, and most importantly, meaningful human connections.

During his time as an apprentice, Elias wore many hats. Initially, he was a jack-of-all-trades in our small tech team, tackling a variety of tasks. As the company grew, he took on more significant responsibilities, managing early projects like server-side applications and handling product management related tasks before our Product department officially existed. His technical skills and helpful nature made him the go-to person for IT questions, from printer issues to Wi-Fi troubleshooting, at a time when AB Tasty was still a budding startup without a dedicated IT manager.

In September 2018, Elias joined AB Tasty’s Innovation team as a full-time employee, focusing on the development of “Flagship” (now AB Tasty Feature Experimentation & Rollout). His hard work and dedication paid off when he was promoted to Senior Developer in 2020, an important time as Flagship transitioned from an innovative project to a standalone product.

In 2021, Elias took on a new challenge as he became AB Tasty’s pioneer in Canada, opening our Montreal office. During this period, he moved from the Innovation department to the Feature Experimentation & Rollout team, continuing to develop the product he was so passionate about.

Elias’s journey took another exciting turn in 2023 when he joined the PX team, where he played a key role in improving the UX and security of our platform. His contributions were invaluable, and in May 2024, his role evolved once again. Elias became the Technical Team Lead for the One Platform team, taking on the crucial project of integrating AB Tasty’s latest acquisitions into our platform.

Elias has been an integral part of AB Tasty’s “test & learn” DNA from the start. Our Founders’ creative drive encouraged him to contribute to various projects, some of which were experimental and not all successful, but always enriching.
